Robyn Cathcart, a 2014 winner of the Cape Breton Vitality Award for the Arts & Culture Sector of Cape Breton Island is delighted and honoured to join THE BELLS OF BADDECK as “Casey Baldwin” this summer. One of the area’s top entertainers, Robyn is a multi-faceted, dynamic and in-demand artist whose thirty-four year career spans the worlds of opera, musical theatre, jazz, pop, concert performance, commercial performance and recording. His credits seem endless – Artistic Director of the historic Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, Director of Creative Projects for The Fortress of Louisbourg Association, Founding AD of Enter Left Productions, Sydney, Co-Director of the Opera Studio at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and Artistic Director of the Triple Threat Musical Theatre, both in British Columbia. Thank you, Robyn, for all that you bring to the cultural life of Cape Breton!
Robyn is the #1 choice to play the equally talented pilot, engineer, politician, environmentalist, University of Toronto graduate, and hydrofoil builder, F.W. Casey Baldwin. “Casey” loved to fly and he advanced aviation history with a number of flights as part of the Aeronautical Experimental Association, funded by Mabel Bell! Thank you, Casey Baldwin, for recognizing the need to protect our beautiful Island with the development of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park – when you go on the Cabot Trail – thank Casey Baldwin.
Come and meet him in The Bells of Baddeck this summer! Says Robyn about The Bells of Baddeck, “I laughed, I cried…what a wonderful story…”
